Celebrate Canada in La Crete 2017
The Canada Day Committee and the La Crete Agricultural Society wish to acknowledge and thank the following funding and sponsors of La Crete’s Celebrate Canada event on July 1, 2017:
Department of Canadian Heritage, Government of Canada
Vision Credit Union
La Crete Co-op
Super J Foods
We also wish to acknowledge and thank all the community volunteers and various non-profit groups who made the event happen. We saw great participation in the parade, and of lot of community spectators came out to enjoy it. The food vendors and helium balloon volunteers were certainly kept very busy over the lunch hour. We thank Philip Doerksen and the Peters family for leading us in singing the Anthem in the arena. The event was the better for it. Thank you to all the community groups, individuals, and the fire department who provided afternoon entertainment for families. The flag raising event at Jubilee Park highlighted Canada’s 150th anniversary and the milestone of near completion of the commemorative park itself. The car races at Penner Speedway were also very well attended. The committee considers the event a success because it brought community together through volunteering, serving, participation, socializing, and partaking. May God help us keep Canada great, strong, and free!
